Facilities In & Around Marloth Park:
The Reserve has 2 centres, the Trading Post & the Bush Centre, where guests can find shops stocking groceries, meat, fruit & vegetables, firewood & charcoal, ice, curios & freshly baked goods daily. Both centres have bottle stores, laundromats, butcheries, as well as shops selling cakes etc. ATM machines can also be found at the two centres. A Shell Fuel station can be found at the Trading Post, which caters for both petrol & diesel vehicles.
Restaurants can be found at both centres, as well as elsewhere in Marloth Park. A small nursery can be found at the Bush Centre. There are Spa facilities within & close to the reserve.
There are many species of animal roaming freely in Marloth Park. Walks or drives along the Crocodile River are recommended. There is a fence separating Marloth Park from Kruger Park so it is safe to walk. There is a Lookout Point overlooking the Crocodile River & Kruger National Park, which is a great spot to watch the sunset from at the end of the day!
Lionspruit is a game reserve home to most animals other than elephant. It is located within the Reserve (an entrance fee is payable). It is recommended that guests visit the Kruger National Park rather than Lionspruit if you are game viewing. Marloth Park itself is a birdwatcher’s paradise!
A tennis court & swimming pool can be enjoyed at the Club House in Marloth Park. Braai facilities are also available, as well as a restaurant.
There are golf courses in both Komatipoort & Malelane – the 2 towns closest to Marloth Park. There is a Miniature Golf Course at the Bush Centre.
Close enough to Swaziland, Mozambique (Maputo) & the Panorama for day trips! Game Drives and Night Drives can be done in Kruger National Park. Tours & safaris can be arranged from the Lodge. Airport transfers can be arranged to & from the Lodge.
Kruger National Park
Morning Walk
Up to eight guests are taken out of the camp’s boundaries to explore the surrounding wilderness areas adjacent to the camp. Experienced (and armed) guides share their knowledge of the fauna and flora to explain natural wonders. The walks are relaxed and don’t take longer than a few hours, so no over exhaustion will take place. Two armed field guides accompany you on the walk in order to ensure your safety, They focus on the things that you will usually not be able to see from a vehicle. By being out on foot you cover an area more intensely and you are able to experience nature using all of your senses. If there is any large game in the area you are more than likely able to encounter them and have an exhilarating experience of approaching them on foot.
Sunset Drive
This activity leaves before the sun sets and gets back once the sky is dark. Experienced guides drive the groups. The sunset drive lasts at least 3 hours.
Night Drive
Take part in the nocturnal activities of Kruger’s secretive creatures. Experienced guides drive the groups.
